Job Description

As a Chief for Think Rubix, you will utilize your leadership and sales acumen to make strategic decisions for the Firm and manage a portfolio of clients, qualified leads, and special projects. You will be driving the Firm’s growth with your relationship, subject, and problem solving expertise by coaching senior staff on their leadership and management skills. The Office of Business Development will help support the development of your portfolio so that your work aligns with your skills and interests.

To meet these outcomes, you will be empowered to coach our team to develop the Firm’s talent management. Your leadership will support the vision of TR&Co. as a competitive social innovator with a transformational approach to problem solving and social innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership for the Firm to support and execute the vision and business strategy of TR&Co. by attending Advisory Committee meetings and making decisions in collaboration with other Executive Leadership
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, qualified leads, and special projects by collaborating closely with TR Studios on project work plans and budgets, the CEO on talent management, and the Office of Business Development on sales to ensure project, firm, and sales goals are met
  • Own sales of TR&Co. services to qualified leads by actively generating new leads, researching and developing proposals for qualified leads, and bringing prospective deals to close, meeting sales goals with the support of the Office of Business Development
  • Provide ongoing client relationship management to ensure client success through consistent and thoughtful communication and problem solving with clients in your portfolio via email, telephone, and virtual and in-person meetings
  • Provide leadership coaching for senior staff by holding 1:1 coaching sessions to address talent management, strategy, skill development, and other challenges raised
  • Plan and help facilitate meetings with boards, staff members, and other stakeholders, including current and prospective clients to prioritize and direct ongoing internal and external projects
  • Oversee the creation of policy-related materials, reports, and briefings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and advocacy organizations.
  • Lead the Equity Innovation Pod, driving the vision and strategy for equity-focused work.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and tailor equity strategies that drive change and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that Think Rubix is a trusted partner in their equity journey.
  • Work with the research and insights team to identify key trends and opportunities in the equity landscape, informing our work and approach.
  • Act as a spokesperson and thought leader in the field of equity and social innovation, representing TR&Co. at conferences, panels, and other public forums.
  • Mentor and guide the equity team, fostering an environment of growth and learning.
  • Collaborate with other pod leaders to ensure cross-pod communication and cohesive client service delivery.

Expected Allocation of Time:

  • 70% dedicated to business development, including, but not limited to, following up on client leads and working with other pod leads and directors to complete proposals and closing opportunities
  • 20% dedicated to client engagement and satisfaction
  • 10% dedicated to leading and managing your pod, thought leadership, and other internal management tasks

Required Skills

  • Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in an equity-focused role, with a proven track record of driving change.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience leading a team and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse communities and across social, economic, and cultural differences.
  • A deep understanding of social innovation practices and principles.
