Who is Until Freedom?

Until Freedom is an intersectional social justice organization rooted in the leadership of diverse people of color to address systemic and racial injustice, with the operating mantra that the people closest to the pain are closest to the solution.

In early 2020, the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd delivered a gut punch felt across the globe and forced America into a long-overdue reckoning of systemic racism and violence toward people of color. Until Freedom saw a need to push the country forward rather than let it fall back into complacency at the expense of Black lives.

Though Until Freedom had the political power and platform, they lacked organizational capacity to operate the necessary day-to-day administration critical to base building and civic and voter engagement strategy critical to their movement work.

Think Rubix entered into an engagement with Until Freedom to provide administrative and strategic guidance both on the ground and remotely to sustain a 30-day demonstration.

Think Rubix also curated a bus tour and additional partnership to increase voter turnout across majority-Black cities in Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. The outcome was record turnout among African-Americans in the 2020 general election, and the notable 2020 Georgia US Senate runoff election.
